But you couldn't find some weird 1.4 GHz CPU which was secretly faster than a 3 GHz model like you can today. Clock speed still wasn't a perfect indicator of performance AMD chips were much faster than Intels at the same numeric clock speed. Ten years ago, we didn't have dynamic overclocking, multiple cores, and all that fancy nonsense. The program doesn't actually care what the clock speed is, as long as there's enough performance there to perform the required calculations. It won't force the speed to change, either, unless the processor is actively being worked hard. Your Core i5 might self-identify as 1.6 GHz most of the time, but it's quite fast enough to run anything you'd care to install. They figure if you have a ten year old computer, you'll know it's slow and understand when the program isn't lightning-fast. So, they make up some super generic number just high enough to eliminate the worst Pentium 4 chips, and stick it on the box. Other companies don't like to specify components like that, partly because it opens customer service reps up to arguments from irate zealots like, "What do you mean my AMD SomethingAncient isn't as good as one of those crappy Intel chips?!" and partly because they don't want to favor one company or draw unfair comparisons. And your i5 might claim to be 1.6 GHz, but it's another twice as fast as any of those! So just specifying the speed doesn't get you anywhere.Ī company will sometimes specify a target processor (Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz or better), to work around this limitation. A brand new Celeron 847E only has a clock speed of 1.1 GHz, but its overall performance in benchmarks is about the same as an old Pentium D at 3.46 GHz, and more than twice as fast as a 3.8 GHz Pentium 4. That is, it influences performance to a point, but can't be directly compared to any other device to determine overall performance. It's no more relevant than the number of pins used to connect your RAM, or whether you have SATA or IDE hard drives. On the other hand, clock speed is a very fuzzy system requirement, because it's a meaningless number. Similarly, you can specify what shader model and DirectX version a video card needs to support. It's all well and good to say that your program requires 2 GB of RAM and 14 GB of hard drive space, because those are very strict limits. System requirements are tricky to specify. Plus, the right side of the menu bar has handy icons like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Control Center, MacBook’s battery indicator, date and time, and third-party app buttons. This becomes indispensable if you don’t know the corresponding keyboard shortcuts for the actions mentioned in the menu bar. Thus you might want them to always appear on the screen for quicker access. However, the menu bar has handy options that let you perform various actions related to that app. Another way to enter and exit full-screen mode on Mac is by using the keyboard shortcut: Control + Command + F.Īs you might have noticed, when an app is in full screen, the menu bar disappears from the top so that you can take advantage of the whole screen. When you click the green button from the top left of an app’s window, it expands to take the entire screen. Do you miss the top menu bar when you open a Mac app in full screen? In this tutorial, we show you how to have the menu bar stay on the screen even when you enter full-screen mode. 2/25/2023 0 Comments Cant format to ntfs on macNow you should be able to read and write to the drive on Mac. Make editor adjustments with one keyboard shortcut, and a slight location change as to where to put your mouse, to get the different commands to work. The purpose of these two commands is simple. When sliding your clips, what you are doing is keeping the duration the same, but moving the clip back and forth up and down the timeline, to give it a new starting location. Sliding, on the other hand, is slightly different. What you are doing to your clip is “slipping” it back and forth “inside” the edit. A “Slip”, is the technique of adjusting the content of your edit, without adjusting the in and out edit points. So, the first big question is, what is the difference between slipping and sliding. Now, I want to keep the idea of Trim Edit Mode (TEM) going, and talk about two other fantastic features you have access to when in TEM, and that is slipping and sliding, and what the difference is between the two concepts. In our previous lesson of our look at learning BlackMagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve, we talked about Trim Edit mode, and how you can now trim clips in both destructive, and non-destructive ways. 2/24/2023 0 Comments Skype for web screen sharingIn other cases, the person you call may experience the problem, thus preventing you from sharing screens. Anything you are recording can be feed back through a virtual audio cable back to another physical input in VM and then can monitored from there (with whichever output device you select) but be careful not to create an infinite loop. His is set to 2.0, but like all audio settings theres no magic number. Again, just be sure youve selected the Virtual Audio Cable or you wont hear any of the changes Step 3: Noise Gate Next, Scotch uses the noise gate, simply called 'Gate' in VMB. Monitoring while recording to the same Virtual Device is a bit different since they only seem to do either playback or recording but not both at the same time. I find it is easier to hear how I sound if I do a separate recording in Audacity and play it back. I found what Windows shows doesn't always match what Discord shows. In your Windows Sound Settings, also, make sure your Discord inputs and outputs are set correctly. If however, instead you want to record from Discord to your virtual tape, then you need to have Discord Output to Voicemeeter Aux Input. You can do this in your Discord Voice settings. If you input device on Discord is B2 and you are trying to playback audio on discord, you need to set your input device on Discord to VoiceMeeter Aux Output. The selections on the right are for output (playback) devices. You picture implies you are looking at recording devices but I assume you want to playback your virtual tape to Discord, based on your picture. |
